The first is courtesy of my buddy, Andrew. It is not safe work for work, unless you have earphones or co-workers/superiors with a really liberal sense of humor. I actually laughed out loud. Not like when you say “LOL” in an internet conversation, but then don’t really laugh. You might smile a little, but more than likely you’re registering no emotion on your face. I really did laugh.
The second, and most important is something I’ve been wanting to talk about for the past week. I couldn’t, though, because I didn’t want to jinx anything. Anything I’ve talked about recently that I’ve been hopeful about has gone to crap the minute I went public with it. Anyway, now I can share.

I got my official offer letter today. Starting on June 16, I’ll be working for the Worldwide Adult Kickball Association. It’s a position that is higher up the ladder than I’ve ever had. Why is this fabulous? It seems like such a great company to work for. While I will inevitably get annoyed with some things, but the people I have talked to really love working for them. Plus, there will be the parties I’ll be attending for the company, and I’ll get to play kickball if I have the urge. Also, I’ll be able to work from home, and make my own hours. It’s full time. The pay is great, and I’ll be salaried. Last, I get five weeks of vacation.
Third, Patrick also got an official offer letter for the position for which he was gunning. Aside from the great salary, he’s getting a signing bonus, which will help immensely with our impending move.
One sad note, however. I just got my first mosquito bite of the season. So itchy. Sigh.

Hooray for great job news for both you and Patrick. Are both jobs in D.C. (or at least Metro-accessible)? Will you be able to totally abandon the ‘burbs?

Well my job is strictly from home, aside from some field trips around the area in the DC area. His is in DC. We specifically got jobs so we could move out of the ‘burbs. We move into DC on July 25th.

Congrats on the new job!
I hate mosquito bites! They seem to love me. The bumps are always so huge too. Like quarters! They’re really hard for me to hide.
