ABC Family Brings Us Harry Potter

In honor of this 4th of July weekend, the folks over at ABC Family decided to celebrate by showing all of the Harry Potter movies in a big wacky magical marathon.

Nothing like celebrating our country’s independence by showing how the Brits got back at us with the whole Harry Potter craze.  We may have our freedom, but they have our money, our children’s attention, and, well, our money.

In fact, did you know that no American actors (children or adults) were allowed to be apart of the movies?  The only exception was the daughter of the director of the first two movies, and she was just an extra in the background who never spoke.

Anyway, now that I think about it, ABC Family has always been a bit weird.  They’re a family station with shows about pregnancy and others that have viewer discretion warnings attached.  When I think of a family channel, I think of safe programming where parents don’t have to worry.

So it’s settled, then.  The ABC Family Channel is un-American and trying contribute to the deliquency of our youth.

Happy 4th.

Now we’re heading out to a birthday celebration at Piratz Tavern.  We’ll be contributing to the deliquency of ourselves.
