Gas Station Advertising?

A new trend among gas stations has been to install televisions that play advertisements.  Makes sense.  You’re stuck standing there while the gas pours into your tank at a tauntingly slow place.  You’re a trapped audience!  I just find it amusing, and a little insulting, that this trend is emerging at a time when the gas prices are skyrocketing.

When I’m blowing more than $30 on a mere half a tank of gas, I totally want to spend money.  I don’t know about you guys.

  • I can see why they’re doing it, but the timing is just off. Filing up my tank isn’t where I think about new purchases. It’s where I cry.

  • the best was i was in a bathroom at a hotel downtown a while ago and they had teevee screens built into the mirrors. it was CRAZY! i of course…was fascinated.

  • Wow, I totally didn’t know that. The perks of not having a car…

  • Wow I have not seen that yet. Watch me get too engrossed by the advertisement and spill gas on me. Ew. more money down the drain.

  • Oh yuck. Way to rub in the fact that you have no money!
Filling my car (a medium sized sedan) costs $100.00 Australian. It’s extortion!!!!!
    :(
    I feel ya.

  • I prefer the places where they play awesome music. That way I can pass the time by dancing :-)
