Little Things

Some little things make me happy.  Some little things make me sad.  Let us review:

+The forecast for this week shows the highs in a slow decline.  They’re starting to dip into the mid-70s.  Couple that with the slight crisp fall smell I’ve caught in the air recently, I know autumn and sweaters are just around the corner.

-While I understand morning commutes on a bus are not the picture of comfort, some basic rules of conduct should be followed.  For example, say your bus is packed to “Cattle Car Capacity”, you shouldn’t whip out your Kenneth Cole cologne and spray it NINE times all over yourself.  I have man smell on me now.

+Okay, so this isn’t little, but the Skins won yesterday in an impressive 4th quarter comeback over the Saints.  The first half was rather painful to watch, and it was good that no one was home since I was throwing a tantrum, but it worked out.  Bring on the Cardinals!  I need another win before we go on the road back to back against Dallas and then Philadelphia.  Cry.

Fig. A: Eli Manning is confused, and I like it.

-Somewhere along the line, dear little Eli Manning learned how to throw a football.  It would be an understatement to express that I am upset.  I mean seriously, where does he get off?  As I mentioned earlier this year, I was grateful that he beat the evil Patriots in the Super Bowl, but come this season he was no longer on my Happy List.  Oh well, he’ll still always be Elisha Manning to me.

+Updated our wedding website, but here’s the kicker.  I added a section for questions about the wedding, but I actually took out a ton of information.  That’s right, I updated it to remove information without adding.  Well, that and to add a sexy new header and a few minimal updates.  I gave it a facelift.  Our wedding just went through it’s 3rd and final incarnation thankfully.  Colors, venues… everything.  It’s all new and improved due to finance issues that occurred a couple of weeks back.  It’s all very hush hush until things are finalized.

-I forgot my wallet at home this morning.  Well okay, I misplaced my wallet somewhere in the house.  I think maybe because it’s the ugliest freakin’ wallet I’ve ever seen I reject it like an unwanted child.  Either way, it had money in it that I needed.

+Upside I was still able to have my morning Diet Coke.  (It’s necessary for proper Liz functionality.)  Why?  Because on Friday I left an extra can of it in the fridge at work.  I don’t know why.  I randomly on a whim bought two cans and put one in the fridge.  I never do that.  Ever.

-Horatio has a new habit that is, to say the least, off-putting.  (Don’t worry, Horatio Judges You will be back very soon.  I know he’s been absent, but that doesn’t mean you’ve gotten off judgment free.  He’s coming.)  During the night, he has these fits where you MUST BE AWAKE RIGHT THAT VERY SECOND TO PAY ATTENTION TO HIM.  He doesn’t need to go out.  Hell, he doesn’t even want to play.  He takes his head and rams it into my boobs while I’m sleeping until I wake up.  Then he’ll just sit there and stare at me with his ears standing straight up, which makes him look like a very cute, but very fuzzy weird alien.  I’ll finally go back to sleep, but then he’ll do it again.  Lather, rinse, repeat.

+I get paid this week.

-I don’t get paid today.

+My lust and want for an iPhone and a Macbook were thankfully moments of temporary insanity.  We switched back to Verizon at the end of last week for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is AT&T being a complete and utter failure in the area of Customer Service.  Due to this switch, I got a new baby:

It’s the same phone I had with AT&T, but it’s PIIIINK.  I don’t know why this excites me so.  You’ll be hard-pressed to find an item of pink clothing in my closet.  I think it’s some sort of gender-related thing where girls will just pee themselves over random objects redone in pink.  Anyway, aside from that, the casing is much nicer, as is the user interface.  Not going to lie, AT&T’s internet and application interfaces, as well as its AT&T default theme were pretty freakin’ lame.  Oh, Verizon, I missed you…

-Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you cannot reclaim songs that exes have ruined.  It’s completely unfair.
